Six killed in separate incidents in J and K

Srinagar: Six persons were killed in militancy related incidents since February 12 night in Jammu and Kashmir, where a Hizbul Mujahideen ultra was apprehended, an official spokesman said.

Militants shot dead a forest guard Farooq Ahmad, and a civilian Mohammed Abdullah at their native village Bonakote in Bandipora area of North Kashmir Baramulla district on February 13, he said.

In Central Kashmir Budgam district, militants shot at and injured one Mohammed Yousuf Mir at Sanoor Kalipora in Beerwah area on February 12 evening. Mir was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed, the spokesman said.

In a similar incident in North Kashmir Kupwara district, militants shot at one Ghulam Nabi at Kulangam in Handwara injuring him seriously. He succumbed on way to hospital.

Militants barged into the house of Mohammed Sidiq Mir, 'chowkidar' in Naib Tehsildar's office at Sogam, and shot him dead, he said.

In Poonch district of Jammu region, one woman was killed in cross fire between militants and Army at Balian in Surankote area, the spokesman said.

A Hizb militant, Abdul Rashid Mir, was apprehended by Army on February 12 evening in Uri area of Baramulla. One UBGL, its six grenades, 90 AK rounds and 29 Pika rounds were recovered from his possession, he added.
