Jammu: An Army jawan was killed and a Border Security Force (BSF) vehicle was damaged in shelling and firing from across the border in Rajouri district of Jammu, BSF sources said on February 13.

Pakistani troops targeted Krishnaghati sector with mortar shells and small arms firing in the past 24 hours killing Army jawan Tejinder Singh at Forward Defence Location, they said, adding a BSF vehicle was also damaged in firing from across the line of control (LoC) in Rajouri.

Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged mortar shells in Bhawani sector on February 12 night, sources said, and added no loss was reported on the Indian side.

Intermittent small arms firing between the two sides along the international border (IB) has also been reported in Akhnoor, R S Pura and Samba sectors.
