Mangalore: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international secretary Praveen Togadia
on February 13 said Hindus would not tolerate any more delay on the issue of
construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya.
Addressing a gathering at Nehru Maidan in Mangalore on February 13 at
Hindu 'samajothsava', he said the issue was "non-negotiable" and at any cost the
temple will built.
The final decision on going ahead with the work would be taken at a "dharma sansad"
meeting to be held in New Delhi on February 22 and 23, he said.
"No one can prevent the Hindu society on the issue," he said.
"Both the Congress and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) should sit together to enable a
suitable Legislation, paving way for the construction work without delay," he said.
The Hindus waited for a long time to construct the temple and were not ready to wait
further more, he said.
Togadia said the terrorist activities have been on the raise in the country
and should be dealt with iron hand.
Those terrorists who have already been arrested should be awarded with
"phansi" (death sentence), he demanded.
He alleged that the madrasas in the country have become training centres for
the terrorism.
"The madrasas should be banned totally in the interests of the country," he
urged the government.
