New Delhi: The Election Commission has decided to postpone elections to three
Assembly constituencies in Himachal Pradesh - Kinnaur, Bharmour and Lahaul and
Spiti - to June 8 in view of inclement weather conditions in these areas.
A decision to defer elections to these constituencies has been taken after taking
all material circumstances into account, including the representations received from
various political parties and individuals and also the report of the chief electoral
officer of the state, EC said in a press release.
According to poll schedule announced by EC, polls to these constituencies were to be
held along with Assembly polls in HP, Meghayala, Nagaland and Tripura on February
26.
