New Delhi: Delhi police on February 15 busted a racket involved in betting over the
World Cup cricket and arrested four persons in this connection.
Pramod Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Rajesh Talwar and Ramesh Talwar were arrested from
Ghalib apartments in Pitampura area of North West Delhi on February 15 evening when
they were allegedly organising betting over the India-Australia match, police
said.
Four mobile phones, one landline phone and a TV set were recovered from the
apartment, police said, adding a register with entries of bets worth Rs 2 lakhs was
also seized from the flat.
This is the fifth such racket busted since the World Cup matches began on February
9.
