Srinagar: Three militants and an Army jawan were among four persons killed in Jammu and Kashmir, where security forces arrested a ultra of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit and smashed a militant hideout since February 15 evening, an official spokesman said in Srinagar on February 16.

Three militants and an Army jawan were killed in a gun battle at Gambir Mugllan near Morha Dori Nahi in Manjakote in border district of Rajouri on February 15 night, he said.

He said two other jawans received gun shot wounds in the exchange of fire and were hospitalised. Three AK rifles, their 10 magazines, 188 rounds, two detonators, a wireless set, three pouches and Rs 12,109 were recovered from the slain militants, he added.

Militants shot dead a contractor, Ghulam Hassan Tantray at Athwatoo-Bandipore in Baramulla district on February 15 night.

He said security forces arrested a militant of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit, Abdul Gayoom Parray at Hind Setapora-Zainapora in Pulwama district of South Kashmir on February 15. Two hand grenades and a wireless set were recovered from him.

Police on February 16 smashed a militant hideout in Anantnag district of South Kashmir and recovered three hand grenades, a pistol magazine and 30 pistol rounds at Watoo Dhamhalhanjipora in the district, the spokesman said.
