Valmikinagar (Bihar): RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) president Laloo Prasad Yadav has
said that extremists threatened to kill him if he dared to enter this West
Champanagar district town.
Addressing party workers during a party convention on February 15, Yadav said the
Chief Minister's principal secretary Mukund Prasad had got the indication in a secret
letter, which warned him not to visit Valmikinagar where he would be bumped off by
extremists.
Stating that still he dared to come to Valmikinagar, Yadav said he would not be cowed
down by such threats.
"I ignored the threat to my life and decided to take part in the party convention. I
can not be cowed down by extremists or anti-socials," he said.
"I am committed to work for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden and will not
retreat from the commitment even if have to lose my life," he said.
Ministers and party functionaries present at the convention were shocked to know
about threats to kill Yadav and condemned this "cowardly act of the vested
interests".
