Dhubri: Three persons were killed and over 15 others injured in a clash between two
groups over land in Dhubri district of Assam, police said on February 17.
The dispute between the two groups of the same community erupted on February 16 when
one side led by Maidan Dewan was measuring a 'char' (river island) that had appeared
freshly at Heramai for occupying it.
The second group led by Ailal Dewani of Dewaneralga attacked them with spears, sharp
weapons and sticks. In the ensuing clash three persons were killed, police
said.
The situation was now under control, the police said.
The injured had been admitted to hospital, the police added.
The victims were identified as Sahih Ali Mandal, Sahid Mandal and Sahidul Rahman
Mandal, the police added.
