Kolkata: A major fire broke out at a four storied building at the crossing of Strand Road and Canning Street in the business hub of the city on February 17 morning.

Fire brigade sources said 15 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames.

Fire fighting operations were proving to be difficult, due to the narrow approach road and traffic jam on that stretch.

Details about injury and casualties were yet to be ascertained.
