Ahmedabad: Urging the Centre to expedite the decision on construction of Ram temple
in Ayodhya before commencement of the Dharma Sansad in New Delhi, chief seer of
Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas Manch, Ramchandradas Paramhans Maharaj on February 19 warned the
Centre that "it would be unfortunate for the country if a path of struggle is
chosen".
"Whatever decision (on Ram temple in Ayodhya) that will be taken at the three-day
Dharma Sansad of saints would be the final word and if a path of struggle is chosen,
it would be very unfortunate for the country," he warned while addressing reporters
in Ahmedabad.
"If Constitutional amendments are possible in the Shah Bano case, why is the same not
possible for Ram temple, which has support of majority Hindu community," he wondered
even as he lauded the Centre's appeal to the Supreme Court to expedite the judgement
on the controversial issue.
Paramahans made a satirical remark on Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, saying,
"he (Vajpayee) is capable of solving any issue, however complicated...but only if he
is determined enough."
