New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on February 19 said in the Lok Sabha that there should not be war anywhere in the world, be it between the United States and Iraq or between India and Pakistan.

Vajpayee was intervening briefly during Question Hour to a supplementary by Ramdas Athavale (Republican Party of India), who asked why there should not be a war between India and Pakistan to settle all issues once and for all.

"War should not be anywhere in the world, be it between the US and Iraq or between India and Pakistan," Vajpayee said.
