New Delhi: The Centre's new interlocutor for Kashmir, former home secretary, N N Vohra, would be holding talks with the elected representatives and other groups which "shun the path of violence" in Jammu and Kashmir from March, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani said on February 21.

"I have said that the talks should begin in March," Advani told reporters after Vohra called on him at his Parliament House office.

Government has no objections to talk to anyone who shuns violence, says Advani Asked with whom Vohra would be holding talks and whether the list would include Hurriyat Conference, Advani said, "To begin with, the parleys should be held with the elected representatives. We don't have any objections to whomever he wants to talk to."

"There are the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions besides the political parties with whom the talks should be held," he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister further said the Centre was willing to hold talks with "any group, which will lay down arms and shun the path of violence."

Vohra had a 30-minute long meeting with Advani during which the Dy PM, told him about the points of reference for holding talks with political parties and other groups in the state.

After the meeting, Vohra said he would also meet Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission K C Pant and Union Law Minister Arun Jaitley to get a broad idea about their efforts in bringing peace in the state.
