Curfew relaxed in Dhar for 1 hour only for women
Friday, February 21 2003 11:23 Hrs (IST)

Dhar: Curfew imposed following violent incidents during bandh by 'sangh parivar' outfits on February 19 was relaxed for one hour in the city on February 21 for women, as no untoward incident was reported from anywhere since February 21 night, inspector general (IG) V M Kunwar said.

"The relaxation in curfew has been given from 8.30 am to 9.30 am (IST) to women only," he said.

Curfew was relaxed for half-an-hour in the evening on February 20 also for women only.

Meanwhile, traffic on Indore-Ahmedabad route was also allowed to move, providing much relief to the stranded passengers and trucks, official sources said.

However, the curfew continued to be in force at Rajgarh, Tanda, Digthan and Amjhera, the IG said.

A report from Meghnagar (Jhabua district) said 'hindutva' forces have called for a Meghnagar bandh on February 21, in protest against police firing to control the rampaging mob, sources added.
