Pak's attempts to annexe JK will fail: Vajpayee
Friday, February 21 2003 10:01 Hrs (IST)

We are capable of safeguarding our territorial integrity and thwart efforts to grab it: Vajpayee Shimla: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on February 20 said Pakistan's attempts to "annexe" Jammu and Kashmir through use of military force or proxy war would not succeed.

"India is fully capable of defeating nefarious designs of the hostile neighbour," he said addressing an election rally in Shimla.

Vajpayee said, "The accession of Kashmir with India was done as per wishes of the people and it is final and irrevocable."

"Kashmir is an integral part of India and we are capable of safeguarding our territorial integrity and thwart any effort to grab it," he said.

Accusing Pakistan of "encouraging" disruptive activities in India, Vajpayee said it must realise that ultimately these tactics would "boomerang".

He said India has waged a war against terrorism and the Muslim countries in the Gulf region are also co-operating with it.

"We have been able to get terrorists involved in terrorist crimes extradited from Dubai and we are thankful to Dubai authorities for this," he said.
