Curfew relaxed for 2 hrs, Dhar situation calm
Saturday, February 22 2003 13:08 Hrs (IST)

Dhar: Curfew was relaxed for two hours in entire Dhar city on February 22 morning, during which no untoward incident was reported, according to district collector Sanjay Dubey.

Talking to reporters, Dubey said the situation in the trouble-torn town was fast returning to normal and the relaxation period in the morning passed off peacefully.

Curfew was also relaxed for four hours in Digthan town, while it was relaxed for one hour each in Amjhera, Rajgarh and Tanda, he said.

So far, police have arrested 300 persons in the aftermath of violence after police foiled attempts by Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) activists to enter the disputed Bhojshala site.

Meanwhile, efforts are being made to release the 44 women arrested by police since February 18, he added.
