Ahmedabad: Two-hundred-and-eighty fishermen from Gujarat, held captive in Pakistan jails, would be released by authorities there on February 24, official sources said on February 22.

The fishermen will reach Okha port in Western Gujarat by February 26 in 46 boats that were seized by the neighbouring country, the sources said.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi had expressed deep concern over "inhuman" treatment meted out to the fishermen in jails by Pakistan and expressed hope that the Human Rights organisations would actively take up the matter.
