Indore: Hindu Jagaran Manch (HJM), agitating for opening locks on the Bhojshala,
disagreed with the Dhar district administration's recommendations to open the
disputed site for tourists, 'pooja' and 'namaz' on specific days and said the
Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) should send its team to Dhar to interact with
public before taking any decision on the recommendations.
HJM co-ordinator Radheshyam Yadav described the recommendations as "unauthorised
attempt" on part of the district administration and Madhya Pradesh government and
said he will request the ASI to send its team to interact with the public and seek
their views.
The Manch is not ready to allow Muslims inside the Bhojshala to offer 'namaz'.
If they want to offer 'namaz', then they should do so outside the Bhojshala premises
where a 'Mazar' is situated, he said.
Hindus should be allowed to perform 'pooja' everyday and not just once in a week,
Yadav said, adding that the Manch is trying to contact ASI and would also write a
letter in this regard.
However, the ongoing agitation launched by the HJM since February 18 for opening the
locks on Bhojshala will be discontinued for the time being, Yadav said.
The district administration has recommended opening of the controversial site for
tourists as well as allowing 'pooja' and 'namaz' on specific days.
