New Delhi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on February 22 sought co-operation of
Congress president Sonia Gandhi in its pursuit to construct Ram temple at Ayodhya
and promised support to her party in elections.
"Soniaji should know that the way to Delhi is through Ayodhya and not Lucknow,"
firebrand VHP general secretary Praveen Togadia told reporters on the sidelines of
the 'dharam sansad' here.
Inviting her to help in the construction of temple, Togadia said, "She and her party
can get Hindu support. Anybody supporting our temple cause will get Hindu support.
We will ensure that."

"Polarisation has already taken place in the country, not only on temple issue, but
other matters related to Hindus," he said.
He made the comments while stating that Parliament could help clear all hurdles in
the path of temple construction as they "cannot wait for a court decision".
The VHP leader was critical of the BJP-led government over its moves on Ayodhya
issue, saying, "We do not keep the government or its working in mind.
"The saints are extremely angry and determined to launch a struggle for temple
construction and even beyond that," Togadia said, adding "it is going to be more
than a decisive fight".
