New Delhi: An Inter Services Intelligence (ISI)-backed hawala operator in Delhi has
been arrested, police sources said on February 26.
Abdul Wahid, a contact of Lahore-based ISI agent Tariq, was arrested from
Churiwallan Gali in Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk area, they said.
The arrest of Wahid, who runs a PCO booth in the area, comes after arrest of two ISI
agents Mohammad Arif and Nihal Chand alias Abid in Chandigarh two days back, the
sources said.
Wahid was engaged in passing on hawala money to ISI operatives in India and his name
was disclosed by Arif during interrogation, they said.
Arif had been instructed by Tariq to contact Wahid to collect Rs 15,000.
