Centre has modified Bhojshala suggestions: Singh
Thursday, February 27 2003 13:51 Hrs (IST)

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh on February 27 said the Centre has made two minor modifications in the state government's recommendations on the opening of Bhojshala in Dhar and sent it back to him for consideration.

He said as per the letter received by him from the Union Culture and Tourism Minister Jagmohan on February 26, the Centre wanted that the Bhojshala be kept open for the whole day on Tuesdays and people must be allowed to carry rice and flowers inside it.

Singh said this was in modification of the state government's recommendations that Hindus be allowed entry into Bhojshala for only two hours on Tuesday, during which they will not be permitted to carry materials for offering prayers.

He said the recommendations forwarded to the Centre had come to the state government from the Dhar district administration after an all-party meeting held there on February 19 on Bhojshala issue.

The Chief Minister said he has forwarded the letter to Dhar district administration for consideration.
