Chennai: Phaneesh Murthy, who had quit Infosys board while serving as head of the
company's global sales and marketing in the wake of a harassment suit filed by a
woman employee, has joined the board of Chennai based Futuresoft, a leading player
in the communications and embedded software solutions space.
Announcing Murthy's induction as a non-executive member of the board, K V Ramani,
chairman and managing director of FutureSoft told reporters that Murthy's induction
was part of FutureSoft's strategy to define a new blueprint for the company's plans
to make major inroads into the global market of telecom products and solutions
mainly in the broadband access space.
Murthy, currently heading the United States based Primentor, an Information
Technology (IT) consultancy firm floated by him after his exit from Infosys, said he
was elated at being in the board of FutureSoft, which he said was poised for a very
significant growth in the global telecom market due to its strong intellectual
property rights (IPRs) base in the field.
Asked about the lawsuit filed against him, he said the proceedings were still on and
could not say when it would be over.
