New Delhi: Congress on March 1 said the trends in the Assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh show that the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) bluff has been called off and the ruling party has miserably failed to "replicate Gujarat".

Party secretary Anil Shastri said the good show of the Congress in Himachal shows that the debacle in Assembly elections in Gujarat was an aberration.

"The Himachal outcome is a lesson for BJP that elections cannot always be won on emotive issues and what was needed was performance and good governance," Shastri said.
