New Delhi: German President Johannes Rau arrived in Delhi on March 2 on a five-day
visit to India to carry forward the new impetus in bilateral relations and hold
consultations with Indian leaders on the Iraq crisis.
Rau, who is leading a high-power delegation, will on March 2 hold wide-ranging
discussions with Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on the entire gamut of
bilateral relations besides exchanging perceptions on important regional and
international developments.
He will call on President A P J Abdul Kalam and have meetings with External Affairs
Minister Yashwant Sinha, besides attending some business functions during his stay
in Delhi.
The Presidential delegation includes Kerstin Muller, Minister of State for Foreign
Affairs, Hermann Scheer, member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in Bundestag and
Sebastian Edathy, chairman of the Indo-German Parliamentary Group.
