New Delhi: Congratulating the Indian team for winning the World Cup cricket match against Pakistan, Finance Minister Jaswant Singh on March 2 announced that the prize money earned by them individually or as a team would be exempt from Income Tax.

"I congratulate the Indian team for exemplary performance against Pakistan yesterday (March 1). The prize money given to players, individually or as a team, will be exempt from Income Tax," Singh said in a statement.
