Bhopal: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti on March 3 urged
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh to issue orders for the opening of the
controversial Bhojshala shrine on March 4 to allow Hindus to offer prayers under an
understanding arrived at between the Centre and the state government.
Bharti, in a letter faxed to Singh, said Union Minister for Culture and Tourism
Jagmohan had written to the Chief Minister on February 26 expressing the Centre's
readiness to open the Bhojshala for Hindus on Tuesdays but till now no decision had
been taken by the state government in the matter.
"In view of the urgency of the matter, I request you to issue this evening itself
orders for the opening of the Bhojshala," she said.
