Lucknow: Amid a raging controversy over the tape involving Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, Governor Vishnu Kant Shastri has sought details from her on the episode.

Shastri has sent her a letter along with a copy of the cassette and compact disc (CD), submitted to him by Samajwadi Party, asking her to apprise him of the facts, a Raj Bhavan communique said on March 5.

The communique denied media reports that he had ordered an inquiry into the controversy.
