Jammu: Centre's interlocutor on Jammu and Kashmir N N Vohra on March 6 described the first round of meetings he held with the state government and political leadership as "very fruitful".

"I am happy the way talks are progressing and meetings held with Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, ministers and other political leaders were very fruitful," Vohra, who returned to Delhi after winding up the first round of talks, told reporters.

Indicating willingness to expand the ambit of his talks, he said, "Everybody is welcome to meet me and I would wish to hear everyone."

On how he would assess his first visit to the state, Vohra said, "I established contact with important personalities with whom I would be working in future for finding a solution to the problem."

Vohra had called on Sayeed on March 5 night and discussed the prevailing situation and roadmap for wide-ranging dialogue to restore peace and normalcy in the state, sources said.

Vohra also held talks with Governor Girish Chandra Saxena.
