Nagpur: Claiming that the country's intellectual climate was "gradually tilting"
towards Hindu ideology, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on March 7 declared it
would become "active" in Ram temple movement once again besides expanding and
consolidating itself upto village level under a three-year plan.
Presenting his annual report to the organisation's three-day All India General
Council meeting that began on March 7, RSS general secretary Mohan Bhagwat also
eulogised the Gujarat poll outcome and charged the new Jammu and Kashmir government
with "moving towards old secessionist policies".
"It appears that time is fast approaching for us to once again become active in the
Ram mandir movement. There are enough indications suggesting that the Central
government is also taking initiative to ensure that this issue, with which the
sentiments of the entire society are attached, can no longer be allowed to remain in
uncertainty and a solution should be found soon keeping the sentiments and
aspirations of crores of Hindus in mind," he said.
The results of the Gujarat elections, Bhagwat said, have manifested that people were
no longer ready to "tolerate this tendency of ignoring the sentiments of Hindus for
political self-interests".
"Several instances, which forcefully articulate the sentiments and exhortations of
different sections in the society from time to time, conclusively suggest that
gradually the entire intellectual climate in the country is tilting towards Hindu
ideology," the RSS leader said.
RSS chief K S Sudarshan, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president M Venkaiah Naidu,
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders Ashok Singhal and Praveen Togadia were among the
prominent figures present.
