New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh developments rocked Lok Sabha for the third day on March 7
with Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav alleging that state Chief Minister
Mayawati was threatening to arrest him under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA).
Yadav also alleged a raid was conducted at his brother's house in a village in Uttar
Pradesh.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) members protested this, leading to an uproar with Congress
and ruling party members complaining that only Uttar Pradesh and Bihar was being
discussed in the House.
"How long we will bear with this," asked Margaret Alva (Congress) as the din
continued.
Ananta Nayak (Bharatiya Janata Party) lamented that the disruption of Question Hour
deprives people of the information they would like to have.
Yadav said, "I don't want to stall proceedings but I have been
threatened."
To this, BSP members said, "We will oppose if something untrue is said
here."
Speaker Manohar Joshi said he would only allow Mulayam to speak.
