United Nations: French Foreign Minister Dominique Galouzeau de Villepin rejected the
amendments proposed by Britain to the resolution it had earlier moved along with the
United States and Spain in the Security Council asking for use of force to disarm
Saddam Hussein.
Talking to reporters, he said the amended resolution is not acceptable to it as it
contains deadline.
British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw had announced in the Security Council that they
are amending the resolution to give Baghdad more time.
Though the amendment has not yet been circulated, it is said it gives March 17 as
deadline.
