'Today was the blackest day in Parliament history'
Tuesday, March 11 2003 22:28 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on March 11 said the conduct of Congress and Left party members in the Lok Sabha over voting on a non-official resolution seeking a Legislative ban on cow slaughter showed they have no respect for Parliamentary norms.

"It is the blackest day in the history of Parliament," BJP spokesman V K Malhotra told reporters.

"The Congress along with Left parties today stormed the Well of the House over the issue. This shows they have no respect for Parliamentary norms," he said.

Even Mahatma Gandhi had supported ban on cow slaughter, he said.
