New Delhi: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament (MPs)
and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Madhya Pradesh would meet President
A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on March 12 to demand
dismissal of the state government, if it does not comply with the direction of the
Election Commission (EC) on rectification of electoral rolls and transfer of
officials.
"A delegation of party MPs and MLAs will be going to meet the President tomorrow
(March 12) and also the Prime Minister, asking them to direct the Madhya Pradesh
government to comply with the direction of the Election Commission regarding the
transfer of officials, as also rectification of the electoral rolls or dismiss the
state government," BJP leader Uma Bharati told reporters.
She said the state government had not transferred officials as directed by the
EC. "This is blatant violation of the directives of the Commission. The Gujarat
government had abided by the EC decision in this regard at the time of Assembly
elections."
