Guwahati: Six persons, including a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan were
killed and atleast 50 others injured in a bomb blast by the banned United Liberation
Front of Assam (ULFA) in Lower Assam's Goalpara district on March 16.
"As per the latest reports reaching here six people were killed in the bomb blast,"
director general of police Harekrishna Deka said.
Goalpara police said the improvised explosive device (IED) d by ULFA militants on NH
36 went off when a truck carrying the CRPF jawans and a passenger bus were crossing
the area, killing six persons and injuring 50 others.
The militants had targetted the CRPF vehicle, the police said.
