Ayodhya: Excavators digging the disputed site at Ayodhya on the fifth day on March 17
came across a five centimetre terracotta piece while the VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad)
urged the Muslims to give up their claims on the disputed site and the Wakf Board
rejected the "enemy's counsel".
The terracotta piece, which appeared to be the tail of some toy, was found in trench
"K7" and was kept in safe custody in a sealed cover with the signatures of 13
nominees and counsels in the title suit present at the site, sources said.
Some ashes were found in one of the three chulhas (stoves) chanced upon during
yesterday's excavation and further digging was stopped on those trenches, they
said.
Over 50 labourers under the supervision of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) team
also came across the foundation of the outer wall of the disputed structure during
the excavation being carried out to ascertain whether a temple existed beneath the
structure demolished in 1992.
