Ranchi: The one-day special session of the Jharkhand Assembly scheduled to take up the trial of strength of Babulal Marandi on March 17 was adjourned till March 21.

Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari, who is also the Chief Ministerial candidate of the group of 42 Opposition Legislators, made the announcement in the House on March 17 morning after he received a message from Governor M Rama Jois that Marandi had resigned from Chief Ministership.

The Speaker had adjourned the House sine die amidst pandemonium on March 13 after Marandi's government was reduced to a minority and seven ministers quit and walked across to the Opposition Benches on the Floor of the House.
