Jogi rushed to Ranchi to keep party flock together
Monday, March 17 2003 10:14 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Chattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi was rushed to Ranchi on March 16 night by Congress high command, apparently to keep the party flock together amid reports that the beleaguered Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi might attempt poaching.

Jogi has left Raipur for Ranchi on the orders of the central party leadership, his spokesman Naresh Kumar said.

The Chattisgarh Chief Minister's air-dash to Ranchi assumed significance as his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) counterpart in Jharkhand was in deeper trouble with rebel Assembly Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari deciding to go ahead with the special session of the House on March 17 for a Floor test.
