Hyderabad: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) general secretary Praveen Togadia was taken into preventive custody on March 17 while he was coming to address a public meeting at Anantapur, according to deputy inspector general of police (Anantapur Range) A V Narayana.

Togadia was on his way from Bangalore to Anantapur when he was arrested at Penukonda in Anantapur district, the DIG said.

Togadia was to address a public meeting at Anantapur on March 17 evening for which police had refused permission.
