New Delhi: In a veiled attack on the US for its move to launch an attack on Iraq
ignoring the UN, India on March 19 said unilateralism would not only harm the
Security Council, but the entire world.
"Unilateralism will not only harm the (UN) Security Council, but in future it will
also harm the entire world," Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani told reporters during
Holi celebrations.
He said, "The Indian government has already made its position clear. Iraq should
implement the UN resolutions but if there are any problems, the UN Security Council
should deal with it."
US President George W Bush on March 18 gave a 48-hour ultimatum to Iraqi leader
Saddam Hussein and his sons to leave the country or face "military conflict".
