Dhar: Prohibitory orders were enforced in radius of 300 metres of the disputed
Bhojshala shrine in Dhar for ensuring security of the protected monument, official
sources said.
The prohibitory orders, issued by sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Sanjay Chaturvedi
since March 18 morning, will be in force till further orders, the sources said.
Confusion prevailed in the district over recent Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)
letter to Madhya Pradesh government, suggesting it to open the Bhojshala every
Tuesday for Hindus on the lines of recommendations made by Union Tourism And Culture
Minister Jagmohan.
While Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM), which had been agitating for opening the locks of
the Bhojshala, claimed that the orders were issued by the Centre, the district
administration denied having received any letter or order in this regard.
Hindus also gathered near the Bhojshala and offered puja on March 18 in front of the
barricades.
