New Delhi: Congress deplored US attack on Iraq on March 20, saying it denigrates the
Security Council, flouts international Law and causes grave injury to the concept of
national sovereignty.
"The Congress party cannot but deplore this decision to go to war against a non-
aligned sovereign member of the United Nations," party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy said
in a statement.
Reacting strongly over the attack, he said, "The US decision tramples upon the
United Nation's charter, denigrates the Security Council, flouts international Law,
does grave injury to the concept of national sovereignty and sets dangerous and
unacceptable precedents."
