New Delhi: An all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on
March 22 to discuss the evolving situation in Iraq failed to adopt a joint
resolution.
While the Opposition insisted on using the word "condemn" for the military action
against Iraq by the US and its allies, the government did not favour it, leaders of
various political parties said.
The meeting was attended among others by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, External
Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha and Defence Minister George Fernandes.
