Chennai: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Ashok Singhal on March 22 expressed satisfaction with the excavation work being carried out by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Ayodhya, but wanted the Parliament to pass a Legislation for the early construction of Ram temple.

"The ASI experts are doing the excavation in a scientific manner. I am more than satisfied," Singhal told reporters at the airport.

He, however, said since the judicial process would take time, the Parliament should pass a Legislation facilitating the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya. "Hindus are already impatient and want the Ram temple as soon as possible."

On the proposed satyagraha by VHP volunteers from March 27, Singhal said over three lakh people would converge in Delhi to bring pressure on Parliamentarians to support the Legislative measure.

Asked what VHP would do in case of an unfavourable court verdict, he said, "Let us see."
