Gorakhpur: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Praveen
Togadia on March 24 sought dismissal of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed government in Jammu
and Kashmir for its "failure" to take stern measures to control terrorism in the
wake of massacre of 24 Kashmiri Pundits in Pulwama district.
"Sayeed government has failed to take stern measures to control terrorism in the
Valley just to keep its political interests intact," he told reporters at the
Gorakhnath temple.
The state government should be dismissed after the massacre of 24 Pundits in
Nadirmarg village of Pulwama, the VHP leader said.
Togadia who held a "trishul diksha" in neighbouring Kushinagar district following
denial of permission by district administration in view of the prevailing communal
tension since violence during Holi festival, also accused the Centre for having
failed to take decisive steps against terrorism.
To a question, the VHP leader said he was not against Islam but against "madrassa"
culture which was encouraging anti-national activities.
