Washington: Iraqi leaders have drawn a red line on the map around Baghdad, and once
American troops cross it, Republican Guard units are authorised to use chemical
weapons, CBS News reported, citing unnamed US officials.
The report came as the United States has opened a new phase of the war against Iraq,
engaging a Republican Guard division near Baghdad for the first time with AH-64
Apache helicopter gunships.
