New Delhi: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on March 26 briefed the Cabinet
Committee on Security (CCS) about the information he had regarding the assassination
of former Gujarat Home Minister Haren Pandya in Ahmedabad earlier in the day.
Advani informed the CCS about "the information he had on the killing of Pandya",
External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha told reporters after an hour-long meeting
of the CCS chaired by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
He said the meeting discussed certain "routine items".
Sinha said the killing of Kashmiri Pundits in Jammu and Kashmir or the Iraq crisis
did not figure during the discussions.
The meeting was attended among others by Finance Minister Jaswant Singh, Planning
Commission Deputy Chairman K C Pant, National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra,
Cabinet Secretary Kamal Pande, Defence Secretary Subir Dutta and other top
officials.
