Bhopal: VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) international general secretary Dr Praveen
Togadia on March 26 advised the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government at the
Centre to attack Pakistan for its terrorist activities in India, emulating the
United States, which had attacked Iraq after bypassing the United Nations and its
Security Council.
Addressing party workers at a dharna (stir) organised in Bhopal to protest the
recent arrest of VHP leader Acharya Dharmendra, Togadia said, "India should choose
the path of America by attacking Pakistan for its terrorist activities in our
country."
Togadia, without naming US, said "it advised us to indulge in dialogue with Pakistan
but it went ahead and attacked Iraq without United Nations' sanction."
The dual policy of US to counter terrorism could not be tolerated, he said.
Commenting on the recent killings of 24 Pundits in Kashmir Valley, Togadia lashed
out at the Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani saying it would be unfortunate
that the Hindus were being forced to migrate in their own country.
He said by arresting Acharya Dharmendra, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay
Singh has given a challenge to Hindus.
Dharmendra was arrested by police on March 16 at Ujjain railway station for
allegedly giving an inflammatory speech in Dewas. He had refused to apply for bail
and demanded that the state government release him unconditionally.
In Ganjbasoda, Singh had invoked National Security Act against those who worked for
protection of cows but rewarded those who killed them, Togadia alleged.
