Jesudas leads musical campaign against war

Thiruvananthapuram: Well known singer K J Jesudas on March 27 led a musical campaign against US-led war on Iraq in which leading singers, music directors and lyricists participated.

A large gathering turned up at the Tagore Theatre in Thiruvanthapuram to attend the programme organised by Seabalaya cultural forum.

"Let god bless all countries to live in friendship and harmony," Jesudas said in his brief inaugural address.

Jesudas released a white pigeon at the outset followed by an anti-war song by him specially penned for the occasion by well known poet O N V Kurup.

Those who sang included M G Radhakrishnan, lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri, K P Udayabhanu, G Venugopal Preumbavoor G Raveendranath, Vijay Jesudas, Kavalam Sreekumar and Bhavana Radharkishan.
