Srinagar: Efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir government to prevent fresh migration of
Hindus from the valley received a jolt on March 30 when the surviving Kashmiri
Pandits in Nadimarg, where 24 of them were killed recently, decided to leave the
valley.
Kashmiri Pandits have decided to leave for Jammu on March 31 following "pressure"
from their migrant relations, a spokesman of the Pandits told reporters.
He said though majority of the families were against migration in view of the
assurances given by the administration and local Muslims that their security would
be better looked after, they decided to leave after their relatives persuaded them
to do so.
