Jammu: The residence of senior National Conference leader and MP Choudhary Talib
Hussain and a police station in Jammu division was attacked by foreign mercenaries
on March 30 night, official sources said on March 31.
A group of foreign mercenaries surrounded the house of Hussain at Fatepur area of
Rajouri district around 11:45 hours on March 30 and hurled grenades and opened
indiscriminate firing, the sources said.
Security guards deployed at the house of the MP retaliated and exchange of firing
continued for over half an hour before the militants fled from the spot.
However, the MP and his family members were not present in the house at the time of
the attack, the sources said adding no one was injured in the incident.
Militants also attacked the Ind police station in Gool area of Udhampur district on
March 30 night, for the second time in last fortnight, the sources said.
However, the security personnel deployed at the police station repulsed the attack
without any casualties.
It may be recalled that 11 cops and three civilians were killed in a terrorists
attack on Ind police station on March 16, 2003.
