New Delhi: RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) on March 31 described the Supreme
Court's rejection of the Centre's plea to vacate the stay on religious activity on
the undisputed land in Ayodhya as a "setback" to the efforts to resolve the issue
and asked government to explore other options to find an amicable solution.
"We respect the judgement but we are disappointed. The undisputed and disputed land
should have been treated as two separate issues and some decision should have been
taken on the undisputed land. It appears the court thought otherwise," RSS spokesman
Ram Madhav told reporters.
The apex Court verdict, he said, was a "setback to the efforts to resolve the issue".
"The government should explore other options like mobilising support of the
political parties and trying to arrive at some kind of amicable solution. It should
use its
legislative powers after securing the support of all political parties," Madhav said.
Sangh Parivar outfit VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad), which has been spearheading the
Ram temple movement, would now go to the larger "people's court" and mobilise
support for the temple, he added.
